wandering eye wednesday: week forty-two/2

Wandering Eye Wednesday Amsterdam paintedposies.com

And I drove beyond where the road ended, then I drove some more –

never thought I’d see you again, until I traveled to the end of the shore.

You were there right there before me, in a river of green:

the grass shivered in the breeze under the sun’s beautiful sheen.

I sat there and wondered aloud why you came upon me this day…

the wind whispered back something I’d never heard her say,

“I didn’t find you my friend, don’t be mistaken, it’s true.

I’ve never been lost because I’ve waited here for you.”

*Photo edited for exposure and cropped. Hope the poem didn’t throw you off, I’ve been thoughtful lately…

PS. Happy birthday to Grandpa Buck. You’ll never read this, but I’ll always think of you when I remember my time in the land of the Dutch.
