Bring it, 2014!

Time For Change

HAPPY (FOR REAL) NEW YEAR! How was your night? Did you party? Are you hungover? Or did you take it easy and so you feel great today? I’m guessing if it’s New Years Day and you are reading this, you had a fairly tame New Year’s Eve.  But I won’t dare make assumptions, you party animal, you!

So, did I convince you to make some goals for 2014? Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t, but here are mine just in case you are wondering…

1.) Create (and stick to) a routine — I’ve been really overwhelmed the second half of this year, and I think it’s because I make plans when I should honor my own schedule first.  So this year, making and sticking to a routine, MY routine, is the ultimate goal.  I want to have a nightly habit of clearing the kitchen, packing my lunch and setting out my clothes for the next day.  And I intend to have a weekend routine too.  Saturday includes gardening, cleaning house, prepping the weekly meal plan/grocery list and blogging.  Sunday is promised to the grocery store, food prep for the week and working on projects.  If I can’t do those things AND everything else, those things come first.  Wish me luck on this.  No, seriously. I need all the help I can get sticking to this goal.

2.) PURGE, PURGE, PURGE. — I am so.incredibly.sick.of.clutter.

3.) Get back into my workout routine and eat better — After the Summit Challenge last year, I really let loose.  A little too loose.

4.) Pay off as much debt as possible— hey, part of this sounds kind of familiar, huh? Always strive for better, right?

5.) Create a studio out of the guest bedroom — because I deserve one.  And guests don’t live here every day like I do.

6.) Back up computer and blog — the blog will be backed up soon, because I’m changing things up a bit around here! Be prepared for some construction, and know it will all be worth it, I swear!

7.) Start visiting my Grandparents regularly — I’ve been feeling a real pull to spend more time with them, and sadly, only saw them once last year.  This is really important to me.

8.) Re-establish monthly Art Dates — A couple years ago, I vowed to make a date once a month just for me to work on my art.  It happened maybe a handful of times that year and then fell to the wayside.  I enjoyed it immensely though, and plan to make it part of my monthly routine.

9.) Make a career decision — I won’t elaborate on this here right now.  But I’ll keep you posted for sure!

10.) Start 2015 Europe Fund and get passport — I made a vow a few years ago that in 2015 I’d finally travel Europe like I’ve dreamed of since being a little girl.  I refuse to give up on that promise to myself.  This year is the year I need to get my ass in gear saving up.  Hence the paying-off-debt-goal the last couple years.  Boo.

So, what do you think? Maybe me going on about my plans inspires you to share your own goals, maybe you think I’m neurotic, and maybe, just maybe, I lit a fire in you.  Whatever you think, let me know! I’d love to hear from you, I really would 🙂 Oh! And Cheers to 2014!
