showing my etsy love: last six purchases

You guys-you’ve almost made it to Friday! You deserve a pat on the back, and something to kill the time until the weekend kicks in, am I right? We are gearing up for a trip for my birthday weekend, so I’m totally feeling antsy about getting there already. But, first. I wanna know – do you Etsy?

I’ve followed the site since inception, but didn’t start buying until last year. And now I’m a full-on believer in supporting the local and global artist. Etsy, in case you aren’t hip to that jive, is an online marketplace for handmade or vintage goods. AND you can find local artisans OR those around the world to support. In case you haven’t caught on, I seriously heart Etsy.

I don’t know what my deal was with not using the site to buy the fun and/or necessary stuff I need in my life. But now that I know Etsy is a reputable, quality place, I’m all over it. I started with purchasing new art for our kitchen remodel, and then when Christmas came around, I bought a gift for that husband guy on Etsy, too. And with the new year, I found a calendar that I loved, and that pretty much sealed my love affair.

I started an Etsy site last year and sorta let it die a slow and painful death. However, I’m looking forward to renewing and adding to my listings sometime soon, so there’s that. In the meantime, I thought I’d share my purchases with you now, and maybe some of my favorite shops at a later date. Here they are, if you’d like to see.

Etsy art purchases

Stormy Collection by L Dawning Scott on Etsy

L Dawning Scott Fine Art on Etsy

L Dawning Scott creates beautifully colorful, flowing paintings that remind me of water, earth and sky. Her giclee abstract art is gorgeous, and fits right in with our new space. From California, this artist is “local” enough to make me feel good about supporting, and the customer service was impeccable.

Abstract Faces by Boriana M on Etsy

BorianaM on Etsy

Fun fact: Boriana’s art was on my Pinterest board years ago, and I’d forgotten all about this print until I added it to my cart. I realized I’d been admiring her work for quite a while, and felt this purchase was definitely meant to be! Her artwork is hauntingly gorgeous, and I can safely say this is my favorite piece of art in our home now.

Eye Poetry Photography on Etsy

Eye Poetry Photography on Etsy

Eye Poetry Photography has a wide variety of prints available, and I can’t even remember how I stumbled upon this insect print. Joe loves bugs, and I thought this piece passed the not too creepy test. Irene Suchocki is the photographer behind the art, and I thoroughly agree she has an eye for capturing fantastic images.  She’s got such a wide variety of shots, I know I’ll be going back for more!

Beardology on Etsy

Beardology  is a beard care line crafted in Cleveland, Ohio. Made with all-natural ingredients (like coffee, which smells delicious BTW), these beard oils and balms help tame the beast growing on Joe’s face. I ordered them for his Christmas stocking, and we’ll definitely be going back for more!

Etsy home purchase

Decoylab on Etsy

Decoylab on Etsy

Do you get a yearly calendar? Decoylab’s simply printed 2017 wall calendar (with or without moon stickers dontchaknow?) kept popping up on my “cool calendar” search. We’re usually of the fun, silly or Game of Thrones themed variety up in this place, but I’ve been terribly craving a functional calendar that fit in with our home’s classy new decor. Decoylab actually specializes in clocks, which are super cute and totally on my want list now.

So, there you have it. The last six purchases I’ve made on Etsy, along with the killer cool artisans who have me hooked now. Check them out! And if you have a favorite Etsy shop, please let me know – I’d love to check them out 🙂

Cheers to craving the weekend already! amy
