This year, I think I’ve seen more cacti in bloom than any other year. Also, it’s weird typing the word “cacti.” Don’t think I’ve used that one much. This picture is from 2010 though. I took it with a point-and-shoot, and edited it for sharpness, added the border and the water mark.

I took this picture in 2010 at an outdoor mall in Phoenix. I had it printed and hung it in my office for years, as a reminder to always look up. (Work can certainly drag me down!) I am a sucker for silhouettes, and I love the clouds and sunshine peeking through. I cropped this […]
I love me some wide open space and a rustic fence! I took this in 2005 on a trip to Park City, Utah, with a dear friend. It was a fantastic trip that I’ll never forget, and the forest in Utah is incredible. We hiked one day through Fern Gully, I swear! I only cropped […]

Is it weird that I find cemeteries fascinating? I love the growth on this headstone, and slightly enhanced the color while also darkening the edges with good ol’ photo editing software (picmonkey). Taken with a point and click camera in southwest Colorado in 2011.
Took this picture on my first trip to the Grand Canyon in 2011. I love the tree growing on the edge of the cliff, life in the middle of nowhere… Took this with a point and click camera, slightly edited the color balance. We need to go back now that we have a “real” camera!
One of the best things about Phoenix in the summer is leaving it behind for the cool temps up north. There is nothing fun about baking in the “dry” 110 degree heat in June. Really, nothing. The only consolation is that it’s not monsoon season yet, because then our oven becomes a sauna and it’s […]
