wew: week 37-39/3

Hey there! Sorry for the radio silence the past week and a half. We’ve been trying to keep our head above water over here with the kitchen remodel, non-stop plans with friends and family and prepping for our annual Pumpkin Party return. It’s all fun and games, so I’m not going to complain. I will say, though, that a recent trip up north for a camping weekend was a much needed reprieve from all the activity. I took a bunch of pictures of the gorgeous scenery, and I’ll share them soon, along with details from our trip! In the meantime, here are a few shots to tide you over for Wandering Eye Wednesday 🙂

I don’t know what it is about the seed pods that called out to me, but I love their detail and their whimsy! I don’t have a macro lens, so I did the best I could with zooming in on the one I used and tried to preserve the color cast when I edited because I love the dreamy browns and greens of the bokeh. I adjusted these in camera RAW for exposure to bring out the details (being under the cover of pines, it gets a little dark!) and highlights. They sort of remind me of a Dr. Suess illustration…

Stay tuned for pictures of our kitchen renovation “after,” Pumpkin Party outtakes, and *hopefully* a more consistent posting schedule! xoxo
