I admire those people who can go into a thrift store and create something beautiful out of a seemingly ugly pile of cast-aways. And now with the popularity of Pinterest, it’s become very clear how creative and thrifty people can be. Determined to be one of “those” people, I recently took a trip to Habitat for Humanity‘s reStore to see what I could come up with. For those of you not familiar with this place, they accept donations from demolition sites and people who are remodeling, as well as everyday household donations and sell the goods back to the public to raise money for their projects. Among the used kitchen sinks, electrical components, hardware, doors and everything else you can imagine, there are some really cool things that can either be re-used or re-purposed. I wandered the aisles for quite a while and finally found a few items I could create something new with. I’m starting small, but I think I may be on to something here… Here is the “BEFORE” picture. The “AFTER” pictures will be added when the projects are complete. In the meantime, can you figure out what I’m planning? 😉
