Hey lovelies! How was your weekend? Did you celebrate Thanksgiving? How’d it go?!? We celebrated with a great camping trip this year, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it! However, I have some homework due tonight for a class with Decor8blog‘s #bloggingyourway course called #inspireme. And so I’m sharing it here with you. Lucky duckies!
Seriously though, tasked with sharing what this blog is all about, I thought maybe you’d like some of the method behind my madness? Please don’t mind me putting this before camping details!

So, the assignment is to SHOW the design and ideas behind Painted Posies with a mood board. Admittedly, I’m in a time crunch, guys. I wanted to do something awesome to demonstrate what this space means to me, and then got sidetracked with Thanksgiving, family and camping plans. I came up with the graphic above on the fly, and I’m a liar if I claim I’m totally happy with it. The idea is there, though…
The five blocks on the left demonstrate the color scheme of Painted Posies. Originally, yellow was in there, too, but it doesn’t play well with the internet. You see my logo, which you’ll remember I created not that long ago. The words “photography,” “experiences,” “fun,” and “life,” are what I hope this little bit of the internet world represents, in the fonts I chose for the blog. A couple photos in there to represent my love for candid, natural photography. Also included, a posed work image because of the portfolio section here. Finally, I included two of my favorite post graphics. I love how neutral and pretty they are, and like the contrast of their muted tones against all the bright colors of the font color scheme.
I put some thought into what I want this place to really be, and realize that I still have some growing to do. I’ve loved sharing more of myself here over the years, and hope to be brave enough to continue being transparent and thoughtful in the future. Mostly though, I aim to focus on building more of a foundation for my photography business, sharing photo sessions and behind-the-scenes details. Don’t fret if this sounds boring, though! I’m still content with blogging home, garden, entertaining and creating details, too. Because Painted Posies has always been – and will always be – about experiences, fun, life AND photography.
What do you think? Have I made my madness more confusing or clear? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
