You guys! Guess who finally got out and took some pictures! Oh yeah, this girl right here! I took an extra day off for the holiday weekend and used it to go up north for a hike and a photo op. It was a great decision: the weather was perfect, the scenery re-energized me and the dog thinks I’m even more awesome than he did before. Three pats on the back!

These were taken in Flagstaff during a hike on the Aspen Loop Trail near Arizona Snowbowl. The first one is of the ski lift and I loved the lines and symmetry of the shot! The second was of the skyline on the trail. I didn’t have to do much as far as editing for the first shot, other than cropping it pretty drastically and sharpening the details on the lift to make them pop a bit more. I played with the photo of the trail a bit more, so I could make the tall grasses pop in color and bring out the texture of the field. Aren’t the mountains in the background just amazing? Insert heart eyed emoji here, folks.

OH! The bonus? I’ve got more to share next week. Woot!
